Who We Are
First Step Ventures, LLC is a privately held research and development firm that is focused on the development of pediatric biometric identification and safety devices. Co-founded by Dr. David Tesini, a pediatric dentist, Joshua Wiesman, a biomedical engineer, and Dr. John Wagner, a general dentist, in 2008, First Step Ventures is headquartered in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, USA.
Joshua P Wiesman, MS
Josh specializes in medical device design and product development. He has consulted for a number of the medical giants as well as a variety of privately funded start-ups in the medical device community, providing innovative design, development and manufacturing services for his clients. Fields of work include pediatric cardiology, respiratory, GI, early prevention and treatment for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, and self expanding stents and stent deployment systems. Josh has a number of publications and has lectured internationally on the surgical palliation of pediatric heart defects. Josh received a BS and a MS in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.
David A Tesini, DMD, MS
Dr. Tesini received his DMD degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and completed his pediatric training and MS degree at Tufts University and the Boston Hospital for Children. He has practiced for over 31 years in his pediatric dentistry/orthodontic practices in Massachusetts. He is an associate clinical professor at TUSDM and holds fellowships in the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists and the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He has numerous publications and has lectured internationally on prevention, behavior management, special patient care and growth and development in orthodontic treatment planning for children.
John W Wagner, DDS
Dr. Wagner has been a practicing general dentist for over 40 years in Seattle WA. He frequently lectures on dental procedures, and from 1980-1985 served on the state board of dental examiners. Throughout the years Dr. Wagner has developed several dental and other related products, for which he has been issued patents. While maintaining his private practice, Dr. Wagner also serves as the president for two other small businesses. In his free time Dr. Wagner enjoys golf, boating and spending time with his family.
